A New Non-Inserted and Portable FDR Instrument for Measuring Surface Soil Water Content
نویسندگان
چکیده
Soil water content (SWC) is a vital parameter for understanding crop growth and the soil nutrient cycle. Monitoring SWC without inserting sensors into soil, which can break structure, has previously been significant challenge scientists. In this study, we developed non-inserted portable frequency domain reflection (NIP-FDR) instrument to monitor continuously automatically. The working technique of was based on improved adjustable high-frequency oscillation method originating from principle. Compared control measurement instrument, difference in at 0–10 cm, 10–20 20–30 cm depth within 1%, 3%, 15%, respectively, mean variation less than 5% indoor measurements. field verification experiment conducted summer 2020, error measurements 0–20 5%, while failed compare due low variability during period. This pioneer NIP-FDR able effectively surface SWC, especially depths cm.
